What was originally an impulse purchase turned out to be one heck of an investment. I suffer from quite a rough stubble which grows really thick really fast. Sick of razor burns, I decided to buy an electric shaver at “Shavers Shop”, and a combination of good salesmanship from the girl in-charge, and my particularly upbeat mood, I came home with their most expensive offering.

However there are no regrets. The product was designed perfectly, the contour of the device was so ergonomic, the three rotating blades with swivel action means I get a pretty close shave. And to top it off, the shaver cleans itself after I am done, which means I will probably extend its life which would have otherwise been lost to poor upkeep.

The packaging itself was pretty cool, almost taking a leaf from Apple. The lady wasn’t kidding when she said this particular model comes with an awesome box. When I opened the package, I realized it was really well done.

Almost like a high-end jewelery box, albeit much bigger in size. All in all, it seems like a great investment to me. It took my skin a few days to get used to the rotating blades, but once that’s behind me, the shaving experience was really pleasant. No more razor burns, no more missed spots, and a very very close shave.

The shaver comes with two sets of chargers, one is wall mounted, and the other one is the self cleaning unit. It also has a travel pouch when you wanna take it on a trip. The smaller charging unit is also ideal for short trips.

The white bottle is the cleaning fluid that comes with the unit. I bet Philips wants me to pay a lot of money for refills.
Charging using cleaning unit

This is the best part, fill up the unit with cleaning fluid, and set the blades upside down in it. Let it do its magic cleaning up the blades. No need to be afraid of ruining the blades leaving water in them. It cleans and it dries too. 🙂

Now, its all very good with the aesthetics and function, but here is something my barber back home in India and I would probably don’t see eye to eye. This puppy costs 400 dollars, and that kind of money buys a lot of disposable razors. But this one looks good on my bathroom sink, its a gadget for heaven’s sake and its really functional. So, what the hell, right? Glad you agree.
If you think this is excessive, I have a friend who spent 100o dollars on a table fan. What do you think of him!!?
